Key Stage 3 SEN Teacher (Lower MLD)

About the role

TLTP Education is a welcoming specialist SEND school in Uxbridge seeking a passionate Key Stage 3 SEN Teacher. You will lead a class of pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties, delivering a broad curriculum aligned to the National Curriculum and supporting their progression to Key Stage 4.

Key responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the academic progress, wellbeing and safeguarding of all pupils in the KS3 class.
• Lead and coordinate a team of SEND Teaching Assistants to ensure consistent, high‑quality classroom support.
• Plan and deliver well‑differentiated lessons that meet individual MLD needs.
• Use adaptive teaching strategies, assessment for learning and targeted interventions to accelerate progress.
• Collaborate with families and multi‑disciplinary professionals to achieve EHCP outcomes.
• Foster independence, confidence, resilience and positive behaviour for learning.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience or strong interest in teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly Moderate Learning Difficulties.
• Primary or secondary teaching experience with the ability to adapt learning for pupils below age‑related expectations.
• Proven ability to use assessment data to inform planning and accelerate progress.
• Experience contributing to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.

Required skills

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Knowledge of SEND legislation and EHCP processes.
• Ability to design and deliver differentiated lessons.
• Strong classroom management and pastoral care skills.
