Kitchen Assistant

About the role

Join the award‑winning restaurant team at Thornbury Castle Hotel as a Kitchen Assistant. You will support daily kitchen operations in a historic 5‑star setting, ensuring a smooth and safe environment for food preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate industrial dishwashers to clean all crockery and chefs’ utensils.
• Maintain kitchen areas in line with Food Safety and COSHH guidelines.
• Assist senior chefs with basic vegetable preparation.
• Follow Health and Safety and Food Safety procedures at all times.
• Support colleagues and step in wherever needed to keep service flowing.

Required profile

• Passion for food and the hospitality industry.
• Calm, mature attitude with ambition to excel.
• Strong team player with excellent communication.
• Resilient under pressure and able to work independently when required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Food Safety procedures.
• Understanding of COSHH regulations.
• Basic vegetable preparation techniques.
• Operation of industrial dishwashing equipment.
