Kitchen Assistant

About the role
Join the kitchen team at Haddington Care Home and help deliver high‑quality meals in a clean, safe environment. This hands‑on position offers a consistent routine and the chance to develop your food‑service skills within a supportive care setting.
Key responsibilities
- Support the preparation and cooking of meals to a high standard.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the kitchen area.
- Assist with deliveries, storage, and stock organisation.
- Work closely with the Chef and wider team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Help ensure health and safety standards are consistently met.
Required profile
- A positive and reliable approach.
- Good organisation and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

What we offer
- £12.98 per hour
- 40‑hour week (4 days per week)
- Paid PVG, pension and uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (full‑time basis)
