Kitchen Assistant

About the role

As a Kitchen Assistant at Beaconsfield Heights Care Home, you will support the catering team in preparing meals and beverages for residents. You will help maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment and ensure high‑quality service is delivered every day.

Key responsibilities

• Follow safe food‑handling procedures and uphold hygiene standards.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, responding promptly to instructions.
• Monitor supply levels, advise on quality, and order replacements as needed.
• Treat residents and visitors with dignity and respect.

Required profile

• Demonstrates caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable values.
• Holds a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and maintains high personal hygiene.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling, Fire Safety, and COSHH.
• Physically capable of sustained effort and able to manage a demanding workload.
• Shows initiative, flexibility, and a positive attitude toward teamwork.

Required skills

• Basic Food Hygiene certification.
• Health and Safety awareness (Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, COSHH assessments).
