About the role

Join the kitchen team at Halmer Court, a purpose‑designed care home in Spalding, as a Kitchen Assistant. You will support the Chef and wider kitchen staff in delivering high‑standard food preparation, hygiene and cleanliness for residents, visitors and staff.

Key responsibilities

Keep all kitchen areas clean and tidy at all times.
Wash and sanitise kitchen equipment thoroughly.
Prepare vegetables, sandwiches and light meals as directed.
Assist with serving meals when required.
Report any defects, damages or breakages promptly.
Follow infection control, COSHH and food hygiene procedures.
Support colleagues in other home areas as needed.

Required profile

Positive, reliable and hardworking attitude.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and under direction.
Flexibility to work shifts as required.
Enhanced DBS check required.
