Kitchen Hand – Support Kitchen Operations

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our kitchen team at Bolney Wine Estate. As a Kitchen Hand you will play a vital part in keeping the kitchen running smoothly, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and supporting the chefs during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, dry and store dishes, cutlery, pans and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain clean, tidy and well‑organised back‑of‑house areas.
• Clean work surfaces, floors, equipment and storage areas in line with hygiene and safety standards.
• Assist with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping and ingredient prep.
• Help with deliveries, unpacking and storing stock safely.
• Support stock rotation and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
• Empty bins, manage waste and follow cleaning schedules.

Required profile

• Positive, hardworking attitude with willingness to get stuck in.
• Ability to work well as part of a busy, supportive team.
• Calm and efficient approach during peak service periods.
• Flexibility to work weekends and peak trading periods.
• Strong time‑management and attention to detail, especially around cleanliness.
• Right to work in the UK and access to transport for a rural location.
