Kitchen Operations Assistant

About the role

Tate Eats is seeking a passionate and experienced Kitchen Operations Assistant to support its four gallery sites – Tate Modern, Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool and Tate St Ives. Based in London, the role involves regular travel to Liverpool and St Ives and works across both kitchen and front‑of‑house teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day kitchen operations across all Tate sites.
• Coordinate with front‑of‑house staff to ensure seamless service during regular operations and special events.
• Maintain food‑safety standards and ensure compliance with allergen legislation.
• Manage supplier relationships, stock levels and inventory control.
• Support menu development, event catering, and the museum’s diverse food‑and‑drink programmes (roastery, beer, gin, tea, wine).
• Travel between sites as required to provide operational support.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a busy hospitality or kitchen environment.
• Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to work across multiple locations.
• Knowledge of food‑safety regulations and allergen compliance.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
