Kitchen/Catering Assistant – Private Boarding School

About the role

Join the catering team of a high‑end private boarding school located in the Surrey Hills countryside. You will help produce and serve freshly prepared meals for 300 boarders, using top‑quality, locally sourced ingredients in a modern kitchen equipped with a wood‑burning pizza oven.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for boarders in line with the school’s high standards.
• Assist with store management, including stock rotation and inventory checks.
• Wash up, clean work areas and maintain hygiene standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as the wood‑burning pizza oven.
• Support the catering team during term time and the summer school period.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a busy catering, restaurant or independent‑school environment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable personal transport due to the remote location.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child‑welfare policies.
