Knowledge Development Lawyer – Immigration Litigation

About the role
The Government Legal Department is seeking a Knowledge Development Lawyer to support its Immigration Litigation team. You will champion knowledge sharing, create practical resources and deliver training that enables lawyers to deliver high‑quality public law representation for the Home Office and other departments.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor legal developments and translate them into concise updates, checklists and standard documents for the litigation team.
- Maintain and enhance knowledge‑management tools such as lead‑lawyer notes, precedents and practice guides.
- Support lawyer onboarding and capture insight when staff move on.
- Design, organise and deliver both online and face‑to‑face legal training, including induction sessions.
- Collaborate with L&D specialists, panel law firms and internal stakeholders to ensure training meets real needs.
- Promote available training and help lawyers access the right development at the right time.
- Assist lawyers with research by signposting resources, arranging bespoke sessions and conducting targeted investigations.
- Produce client‑focused publications and content for the GLD digital portal.
- Identify subject‑matter experts and facilitate wider dissemination of their expertise.
Required profile
- Qualified solicitor with experience in immigration and public‑law litigation.
- Demonstrated ability to influence practice and drive knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
- Experience designing and delivering legal training programmes.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
