About the role
A welcoming two‑form entry primary school in Haringey is looking for an experienced KS1 (Year 1) teacher to start in September 2026. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, and involves leading a class through the transition from Early Years to Key Stage 1.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the KS1 National Curriculum.
- Provide structured phonics sessions to support early reading and writing.
- Support pupils’ transition from Reception to Year 1 with a nurturing yet structured approach.
- Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment.
- Monitor, assess and report pupil progress across core subjects.
- Differentiate learning for SEND and EAL pupils.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff and parents.
Required profile
- Hold a UK QTS (Early‑Career Teachers will not be considered).
- Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and phonics teaching.
- Demonstrated behaviour management and assessment skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
