KS1 Primary Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an experienced KS1 Primary Teacher to join a Manchester‑based primary school from September 2026. The role involves delivering the National Curriculum for Year 1 and Year 2, with a strong focus on phonics, early reading, writing and mathematics. You will be responsible for creating a supportive and engaging classroom environment that fosters strong foundational skills.

Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Take full responsibility for a KS1 class.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the National Curriculum.
• Deliver effective phonics and early reading sessions.
• Support children’s development in writing and early maths.
• Assess and track pupil progress.
• Differentiating learning to meet individual needs.
• Establish positive behaviour and classroom routines.
• Work closely with support staff and colleagues.

Required profile

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Recent UK primary teaching experience.
• Strong KS1 experience, preferably Year 1 or Year 2.
• Good understanding of phonics and early reading.
• Confident classroom and behaviour management.
• Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum.
• Patient, nurturing and enthusiastic approach.
