KS1 Teacher – Year 1/2 Primary Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to lead a mixed‑ability Year 1/2 class of around 30 pupils in a welcoming primary school in Bolton. The role starts in September 2026 and runs for the full academic year, with the possibility of a longer‑term or permanent position for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the KS1 National Curriculum.
• Support pupils’ development in phonics, early reading, writing and maths.
• Build strong, positive relationships to promote good behaviour and engagement.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL.
• Monitor and assess progress, identifying gaps and adapting teaching accordingly.
• Deliver targeted interventions to improve literacy and numeracy attainment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, sharing best practice and resources.
• Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities where appropriate.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Recent experience teaching within KS1 (Year 1 or Year 2 desirable).
• Strong references covering recent teaching experience.
• A CV covering the last 10 years of employment (with any gaps explained).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
