About the role
The school is seeking a full‑time KS1 Teaching Assistant for a busy, inclusive primary setting in Birkenhead. The role starts in September 2026 and is term‑time based, supporting early literacy, numeracy and classroom routines for Key Stage 1 pupils.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher with group work and classroom organisation.
- Provide early reading support, phonics instruction and behaviour management.
- Prepare teaching resources and help create a calm, engaging learning environment.
- Deliver occasional light one‑to‑one intervention for pupils who need extra help.
Required profile
- Experience working with KS1 pupils.
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow teacher guidance and classroom procedures.
- Confidence supporting early literacy and phonics (desirable).
