About the role
We are seeking a KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Waltham Forest for the 2026/27 academic year. The role is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, and offers the chance to support children across Key Stage 1 while gaining valuable classroom experience.
Key responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning across KS1 classrooms.
- Provide one‑to‑one assistance for pupils with mild special educational needs.
- Assist with small‑group activities and maintain classroom organisation.
- Encourage pupils’ confidence, independence and engagement.
- Collaborate closely with teachers to help children achieve their learning goals.
Required profile
- Experience working with children or a recent graduate eager to enter education.
- Patient, enthusiastic and approachable attitude.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to helping every child succeed.
Required skills
What we offer
- Fixed‑term full‑time contract from September 2026 to July 2027.
- Daily rate of £92‑£115, dependent on experience.
- Supportive and friendly school environment.
- Extensive classroom experience across KS1.
- Teacher‑training opportunities from September 2027 for suitable candidates.
