KS1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Plymouth)

About the role
Join a vibrant primary school in Plymouth as a Teaching Assistant focused on KS1. You will support early learning, particularly phonics and reading development, within a dynamic classroom environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils in Reception and KS1 with daily classroom activities.
- Deliver small‑group phonics interventions.
- Assist with reading, writing and basic numeracy tasks.
- Help create an engaging and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Encourage pupils’ confidence and participation in lessons.
Required profile
- Experience working with primary‑school‑aged children (KS1 preferred).
- Enthusiastic, nurturing approach and ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong knowledge of phonics schemes (essential).
- Relevant TA qualification is desirable.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of phonics schemes.
- Familiarity with Read Write Inc or similar phonics programmes (desirable).
