About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic KS2 Learning Mentor to join a Brent‑based primary school in North West London from September 2026. The role supports Year 5 pupils transitioning to Year 6 and helps Year 6 students prepare for Key Stage 2 SATs, focusing on English and Mathematics.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions in English and Mathematics.
- Collaborate with class teachers to reinforce learning objectives and identify pupils needing extra support.
- Assist Year 5 pupils with literacy, numeracy and study‑skill development for a smooth transition.
- Monitor progress, keep accurate intervention records, and report updates to teachers and parents.
- Support SATs preparation through revision sessions and examination techniques.
- Promote positive behaviour, independence and effective learning habits.
Required profile
- A caring, patient individual with a passion for helping children succeed.
- Experience working with primary‑aged children, especially within Key Stage 2.
- Good understanding of the Year 5 and Year 6 English and Mathematics curriculum.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational abilities to track pupil progress.
Required skills
- Ability to deliver targeted academic interventions.
- Proficiency in supporting English and Mathematics learning.
