KS2 Supply Teacher – Primary Schools (Middlesbrough)

About the role

Reed Education is looking for enthusiastic and adaptable Key Stage 2 (KS2) Supply Teachers to cover primary school classes across Middlesbrough and the wider North East. The role is flexible, suitable for both experienced teachers and Early‑Career Teachers who want to broaden their experience in upper primary year groups.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that follow the KS2 national curriculum.
• Support pupils’ academic progress, including preparation for SATs where required.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment.
• Follow school safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
• Manage behaviour in line with each school’s expectations.
• Adapt quickly to different school settings and classroom dynamics.
• Mark and assess pupils’ work according to school policies.
• Communicate clearly with teaching staff and contribute to a collaborative school culture.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Flexible, reliable, and proactive approach.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of the UK primary curriculum, including SATs preparation.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
