KS2 Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Preston)

About the role

Join a supportive primary school in Preston as a KS2 Teaching Assistant. This full‑time position runs Monday to Friday, 8:45 am – 3:30 pm, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on older primary pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Work with small groups and individual pupils to deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Support pupils in developing independence, resilience and confidence.
• Assist with classroom management and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Provide feedback to the class teacher to inform planning and track pupil progress.
• Help prepare resources and contribute to school life, including displays, events and educational visits.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children in a school, youth or care setting (highly desirable but not essential).
• Understanding of the KS2 curriculum and ability to adapt support for diverse learners.
• Confident, caring and proactive with strong communication and teamwork skills.
