L1 SOC Analyst – Real-time Monitoring & Incident Triage

About the role

ACE Money Transfer is seeking a Level 1 SOC Analyst to join its security operations centre. You will work on a 24/7 shift model, providing real‑time monitoring, alert triage and initial incident handling across SIEM, EDR/XDR and MDM platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and triage alerts from SIEM, EDR/XDR and MDM platforms during assigned shifts.
• Classify alert severity, identify false positives and document findings with structured case notes.
• Escalate confirmed or suspected incidents to Level 2 analysts with clear summaries of indicators, affected assets and timelines.
• Execute ACE Incident Response Playbooks for phishing, brute‑force attacks, endpoint isolation and device compliance failures.
• Perform basic log analysis across endpoint, cloud, M365 and identity sources via the SIEM.
• Maintain shift handover documentation and communicate open incidents to the incoming analyst.
• Support compliance reporting where security events intersect with FCA, UK‑GDPR, CBI or PCI DSS obligations.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in a SOC, IT security or help‑desk security role.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools and awareness of EDR/XDR and MDM platforms.
• Basic knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, networking protocols and log analysis.
• CompTIA Security+ and/or CompTIA CySA+ certification.
