L2 Engineer – Onsite IT Support (DBS Cleared)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive L2 Engineer to provide on‑site 2nd line IT support for a school environment in Dulwich, London. The role is contract‑based (3 months with possible extension) and requires a current DBS clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve on‑site IT incidents and service requests promptly.
• Own tickets end‑to‑end, escalating when necessary.
• Work to defined SLAs, prioritising tasks effectively.
• Create clear documentation and knowledge articles where gaps exist.
• Maintain classroom technology – AV equipment, projectors and interactive boards – ensuring rooms are lesson‑ready each day.
• Support staff, shared and student devices.
• Understand safeguarding, filtering and usage policies.
• Act as the visible “face of IT”, building strong relationships with staff and leadership.

Required profile

• Current DBS clearance.
• Experience in 2nd line IT support, preferably in an educational setting.
• Ability to work on‑site in Dulwich and adhere to IR35 regulations.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• AV equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• Projector setup and maintenance.
• Interactive whiteboard configuration.
