Lab Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Lab Technician to join our award‑winning recycling business in Gloucester. You will work within a dynamic laboratory environment, supporting sample preparation, analysis and reporting for metal and alloy customers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare samples using equipment such as lathe, bandsaw, table cutter and drill.
• Analyse pure metals, alloys and chemical samples with XRF, ICP, Analytix Milestone and LECO instruments.
• Produce certificates of analysis in line with customer specifications.
• Coordinate with commercial and operations teams to prioritise tasks.
• Assist the laboratory manager and technicians to maintain smooth workflow and on‑time testing.

Required profile

• Working or educational knowledge of XRF, ICP and/or LECO equipment (training provided).
• Background in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Materials Science or a related discipline (A‑Level minimum).
• Computer literate with moderate to advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with laboratory systems and software.
• Strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills.
