Laboratory Assistant – Tarvin (Temporary, Full‑time)

About the role

This temporary, full‑time position supports four laboratories in Tarvin, Cheshire. You will gain hands‑on experience in a regulated scientific environment, preparing samples, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with health‑and‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare sample packs for testing activities.
• Set up and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Transfer and process data related to samples.
• Book and arrange microbiology samples and swabs.
• Maintain accurate records and follow strict procedures.
• Handle laboratory waste according to regulations.
• Clean and organise laboratory areas to required standards.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in laboratory, scientific, or technical environments.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Reliable, proactive and able to follow procedures accurately.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Must have own transport and be able to drive.
