Laboratory Technician – Food & Beverage R&D

About the role

Our client, a leading soft‑drink manufacturer, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the Laboratory Supervisor in product development. This temporary full‑time role involves maintaining the lab, producing samples and ensuring traceability of ingredients.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and maintain the laboratory, ensuring equipment and materials meet quality standards.
• Perform daily calibrations on key laboratory equipment.
• Coordinate cleaning, maintenance and waste disposal with contract companies.
• Manage cleaning and equipment maintenance schedules.
• Liaise with suppliers to control stock rotation and traceability of incoming materials.
• Record detailed ingredient, process and procedure data for full traceability.
• Write and review laboratory procedures, instructions and guidelines.
• Produce reliable samples (concentrates, emulsions, finished products) for new product development.
• Assist scientists with documenting production and analytical results.
• Validate and record lab‑generated samples or batches.

Required profile

• Technical education or BSc in Food Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or Agricultural Engineering.
• Laboratory experience in a food or beverage environment is a plus.
• Basic understanding of R&D processes and good laboratory practice.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and committed to continuous improvement.
• Strong English language skills (conversational at minimum).
