Laboratory Technician – Internal (Rotating Shifts)

About the role

Alfred H Knight is seeking an internal Laboratory Technician to perform a wide range of analytical testing on solid fuels such as coal, coke, biomass, RDF and SRF. You will work independently to high precision and accuracy standards, supporting the laboratory’s ISO accreditation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing on solid fuels including coal, coke, biomass, RDF and SRF.
• Process quality control and analytical data independently for authorization.
• Conduct routine equipment checks and maintain clean, auditable records.

Required profile

• Ability to carry out analytical methods and standard operating practices without supervision.
• Understanding of ISO 17025, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards in an analytical setting.
• Practical laboratory experience with standard analytical methods.
• HNC/HND in a science subject or equivalent practical experience; science degree preferred.

Required skills

• Analytical testing techniques for solid fuels.
• QC data processing and preparation for authorization.
• Equipment checks and record‑keeping.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications.
