Labourer – Workshop Support & MIG Welding Training

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Labourer to join a busy workshop team in Nelson. The role offers hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment and includes paid training in MIG welding, providing a solid foundation for a long‑term career in production.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general labouring duties within the workshop.
• Heavy lifting and manual handling of materials.
• Load, unload and move stock safely around the workplace.
• Use a variety of power tools and workshop equipment.
• Assist skilled operatives with fabrication and assembly tasks.
• Prepare materials and components for production.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised work area.
• Participate in full MIG welding training.

Required profile

• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and safety‑focused approach.
• Previous experience in labouring, manufacturing or workshop environments is an advantage but not essential.

• MIG welding (training provided).
