Land and Development Surveyor

About the role

Lead the Council's land and development activity across the full asset life‑cycle, from opportunity identification and feasibility through planning, commercial evaluation, delivery and disposal. The role aims to realise best value, enable regeneration and support corporate objectives for a London‑based Local Authority.

Key responsibilities

• Lead property development projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet objectives and timelines.
• Manage budgets, resources and stakeholder expectations effectively.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to achieve project goals.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in the public sector.
• Identify and mitigate risks to ensure project success.
• Produce detailed reports and documentation for all stages of development projects.
• Contribute to strategic planning and decision‑making within the property department.

Required profile

• MRICS qualification.
• Willing and able to commute to the London borough at least twice a week.
• Strong experience in property development or project management within the public sector.
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Proficiency in managing budgets and stakeholder relationships.
• Knowledge of relevant public sector regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to analyse data and produce comprehensive reports.
• Strong communication skills to engage with internal teams and external partners.

What we offer

• Daily rate of £550 to £645, dependent on level of experience.
