Large and Complex Loss Claims Technician

About the role

Hastings Direct is expanding its Technical Claims Unit and is looking for experienced Large and Complex Loss Claims Technicians. You will manage a portfolio of high‑value motor bodily injury claims, supporting the company’s growth in the UK insurance market.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex motor personal injury claims valued up to £250,000, adhering to authority levels and business criteria.
• Engage with customers, solicitors, medical agencies, engineers, forensic accountants and other stakeholders to achieve fair and efficient claim resolutions.
• Provide technical coaching, mentorship and act as a referral point for colleagues within the Bodily Injury department.
• Contribute to the development of the specialist unit’s technical capability and claims strategy.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling large motor personal injury claims.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining high standards of decision‑making.
• Commitment to technical excellence and continuous improvement.
