Latin Teacher – Part‑time KS3 Classes – Watford

About the role

This part‑time position offers a passionate Latin teacher the chance to deliver KS3 and KS4 lessons in a well‑respected private school serving Watford and surrounding areas. The role starts on 2 September 2026 and runs for one term, providing a focused environment with small class sizes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Latin lessons for Year 7 and Year 8 students.
• Develop pupils' grammar, vocabulary and translation abilities.
• Integrate Roman history, mythology and literature to enrich cultural understanding.
• Contribute to extracurricular clubs and enrichment activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to uphold the school’s academic standards.

Required profile

• Qualified to teach Latin at secondary level (relevant teaching qualification or equivalent experience).
• Ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
• Strong organisational and classroom‑management skills.
• Willingness to work 0.6 FTE, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑4:00 pm.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Latin language and literature.
• Knowledge of Roman history and mythology.
