Laundry Assistant

About the role
We are seeking a reliable Laundry Assistant to join our team at Almond Valley Care Home in Livingston. You will ensure residents’ clothing and linen are cleaned, maintained and returned to support their comfort, dignity and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Wash, dry, iron and fold residents’ clothing and linen according to schedule.
- Label and organise items accurately, ensuring they are returned to the correct rooms.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the laundry area, following health, safety and infection‑control procedures.
- Monitor stock of laundry supplies and report any issues.
- Work collaboratively with the care team to meet residents’ needs.
Required profile
- Positive, reliable attitude with good attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills.
- Understanding of hygiene and infection control is a plus.
- Previous laundry experience welcomed but not essential.
Required skills
- Operating washing machines, dryers and ironing equipment.
- Labeling and organising laundry items.
What we offer
- £12.71 per hour on a 40‑hour contract.
- Pension, paid PVG, uniform and 5.6 weeks annual leave (full‑time).
