Lead Aerodynamic Concept Engineer

About the role

Join the Audi Revolut F1® Team at the Audi Motorsport Technology Centre in Bicester, UK, and lead a team of concept aerodynamicists. You will drive the aerodynamic development of a Formula 1 race car from initial concept generation through to validation using both numerical and experimental methods.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of concept aerodynamicists, collaborating with the Hinwil Aero Concept team.
• Generate, develop, and mature innovative aerodynamic concepts to improve overall car performance.
• Apply CFD and wind‑tunnel data to deepen flow understanding and guide future development directions.
• Work closely with CFD engineers, aerodynamic designers, and other specialists to translate ideas into robust solutions.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to junior colleagues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of aerodynamic methodologies, tools, and processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with a strong focus on aerodynamics or fluid mechanics.
• Proven experience in race‑car aerodynamic development and a broad understanding of aerodynamic interactions.
• Ability to generate, evaluate, and mature concepts from idea to validated solution.
• Strong analytical, creative, and problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to mentor and develop junior team members.
