Lead AI Engineer – Hybrid, London

About the role

We are looking for a Lead AI Engineer to drive the design, development and production deployment of cutting‑edge Generative AI solutions. Working in a hybrid model (one day remote per week) in London, you will shape the AI strategy and deliver high‑impact applications across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of AI and GenAI projects from discovery through to production.
• Define architecture and provide technical direction for multiple AI initiatives.
• Build scalable, secure and reliable AI applications within an enterprise environment.
• Conduct build‑vs‑buy analyses and recommend appropriate technologies.
• Develop solutions such as retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI, automation and intelligent decision‑support tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, governance and business stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide members of the AI engineering team.

Required profile

• Proven commercial experience delivering GenAI solutions in production.
• Track record of leading AI projects from concept to operational management.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building scalable applications.
• Experience making architecture and technology decisions in large enterprise organisations.
