Lead Child Protection Planner – Children’s Social Work

About the role
This contract position is for an experienced Lead Child Protection Planner working within multi‑agency child protection teams across South London and Surrey. The role is hybrid, offering flexibility while supporting vulnerable children and families.
Key responsibilities
- Chair strategy meetings and child protection conferences.
- Lead Section 47 enquiries and multi‑agency investigations.
- Gather and analyse information to assess significant harm.
- Provide expert advice and consultation to practitioners.
- Integrate family‑group decision making and network engagement into protection processes.
- Develop, review, and close child protection plans and contribute to onward planning.
Required profile
- Qualified social worker with at least 3 years frontline child protection experience.
- In‑depth knowledge of statutory and legislative frameworks.
- Proven ability to identify and respond to all types of significant harm.
- Strong competence in working with families, including resistant or hostile behaviour.
- Effective collaboration within multi‑agency networks.
