Lead Continuous Improvement Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Continuous Improvement Manager to drive operational excellence within a global manufacturing site in Devon. The role will lead the development and implementation of lean manufacturing processes, supporting new product introductions and delivering cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust, cost‑effective manufacturing processes aligned with Lean principles.
• Lead Kaizen activities, cost‑reduction initiatives and operational excellence programmes.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and ensure corrective actions for quality and production issues.
• Coach and mentor teams in continuous improvement tools and best practices.
• Support new product introductions, performing Design for Manufacturing and Value Engineering.
• Lead cross‑functional improvement projects from concept to delivery.
• Identify and implement innovative manufacturing technologies and processes.
• Prepare and evaluate capital investment proposals, including ROI, payback and NPV analysis.
• Develop, maintain and audit manufacturing procedures and work instructions across the supplier network.
• Monitor key operational KPIs and drive performance improvement plans.

Required profile

• Background in manufacturing, engineering or continuous improvement environments.
• Proven experience applying Lean Manufacturing tools and driving process improvements.
• Working knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with quality management systems such as ISO9001 or AS9100.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
