About the role
As a Lead Cyber Security Consultant at Actica Consulting you will head multiple small Actica teams delivering security services to high‑profile UK public sector and defence organisations. You will shape information‑assurance strategies, influence senior stakeholders and contribute to nationally critical projects that protect citizens’ everyday lives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead one or more Actica teams on varied consultancy assignments, from security architecture design to GRC guidance.
- Provide security expertise for major system procurements and Agile programmes to ensure secure delivery.
- Identify, analyse and evaluate information risks across programmes, projects and systems, and present treatment options.
- Author and support security assurance documentation, develop or review security architectures, and scope security testing activities.
- Manage delivery of security services across several live projects and work with client‑side and industry‑side customers to secure contracts and proposals.
Required profile
- Extensive experience securing complex ICT systems in the UK Defence or Public Sector, either in delivery or consulting.
- Proven ability to present and justify security conclusions to project teams and senior business stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a track record of meeting client expectations.
- Eligibility and willingness to obtain UK Government Security Clearance.
Required skills
- Knowledge of structured security frameworks such as HMG SPF and ISO 27001.
- Familiarity with security architecture methods like TOGAF and SABSA.
- Technical risk assessment experience.
- Agile development methods, particularly SCRUM.
- Enterprise security technologies: identity management, federation, cryptography, PKI, firewalls, SIEM, vulnerability scanning.
