Lead Electrical Design Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Design Manager to join a growing MEP design team. You will be responsible for delivering detailed electrical designs and coordinating construction information across a variety of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of detailed electrical designs and coordinated construction information for multiple projects.
• Produce high‑quality technical documentation including drawings, specifications, calculations, schedules and schematics.
• Manage electrical design packages from concept through to construction delivery.
• Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, structural, architectural) and work closely with the BIM Manager.
• Review technical information to ensure designs are compliant, buildable and suitable for construction.
• Represent the design team in client meetings, technical workshops and progress reviews.
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams, contractors and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their development.
• Manage design workflows, priorities and deadlines to ensure successful project delivery.
• Support the review of external designs, identify risks and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical design within the construction sector.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and internal guidance.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.

What we offer

• Salary £45,000‑£60,000 per year, including car allowance.
• Monday‑Friday 08:00‑17:00 schedule with an earlier finish on Fridays.
