Lead Electrical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Lead Electrical Engineer to join a market‑leading manufacturer. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be the primary electrical authority on site, responsible for compliance, standards and control systems across the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the site’s Electrical Duty Holder, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
• Lead troubleshooting and continuous improvement of electrical and control systems.
• Oversee PLC, HMI, AC drive and servo control systems, supporting fault‑finding and enhancements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor engineers in electrical fault‑finding and controls.
• Manage technical documentation and drive standardisation of control components across the site.

Required profile

• Time‑served apprenticeship with HNC or equivalent qualification.
• Strong electrical knowledge, ideally with 18th Edition certification.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Proactive, self‑starting attitude with strong problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• PLC programming and interrogation.
• Human‑Machine Interface (HMI) systems.
• AC drives and servo control technologies.
• Electrical fault‑finding and compliance.
