Lead Gas Assessor

About the role

The Lead Gas Assessor will join the Gas Centre team at Blackburn College to oversee the delivery, assessment and quality assurance of ACS programmes. You will work directly with learners, supporting them through workplace assessments and ensuring they achieve their qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a team delivering gas training and assessment.
• Oversee ACS learners, plan and conduct workplace assessments, and monitor progress.
• Coordinate internal verification, act as Lead Internal Verifier and ensure compliance with awarding body standards.
• Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement across the college.
• Promote new gas and heating technologies and support cross‑department initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant gas accreditation and Level 2 Maths and English qualifications.
• TAQA qualification (A1, D32, D33) and willingness to obtain First Aid at Work certification.
• Experience in the gas industry (domestic and commercial) and with a caseload of learners.
• Own transport or ability to travel to external sites promptly.
