Lead Google Cloud Platform Engineer

About the role

Lloyds Banking Group is modernising its technology platforms on a secure, resilient and scalable public cloud. As a Lead Google Cloud Platform Engineer you will join an agile product‑aligned team that builds and operates the core GCP services supporting critical banking workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design, engineer and optimise enterprise‑scale GCP infrastructure and networking.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terraform Cloud.
• Build and sustain CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitHub, Jenkins and Harness.
• Automate processes using Python, Bash and/or Groovy.
• Own cloud services throughout their full lifecycle – design, build, run and improve.
• Perform code reviews and champion engineering quality and consistency.
• Collaborate with architecture, security and software engineering teams.
• Provide BAU operational support, including incident and problem management.
• Mentor junior engineers and influence technical decisions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform in production.
• 5+ years designing and supporting cloud networking.
• Proven ability to work in a hybrid environment and lead technical teams.
