Lead Housekeeper / House Manager

About the role

Silver and Bow are seeking an experienced Lead Housekeeper / House Manager to join a private family home in Brentwood, Essex. This full‑time, hands‑on position combines daily housekeeping duties with the management of a second housekeeper and overall household operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily housekeeping to maintain high standards throughout the large property
• Organise household routines, rotas and staff schedules
• Oversee, support and train the second housekeeper
• Order food, shop for supplies and manage household inventories
• Coordinate contractors, maintenance and repairs
• Answer the door, receive deliveries and run errands
• Handle laundry, wardrobe care and guest preparation
• Provide pet care, including confidence around large friendly dogs

Required profile

• Previous private household experience with a solid housekeeping background
• Experience supervising or managing household staff
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Professional, discreet and trustworthy manner
• Valid driving licence
• Child‑friendly and comfortable with pets, especially large dogs
• Excellent, checkable references
