Lead Lawyer – Property Recoveries

About the role

Keoghs LLP is seeking a Lead Lawyer to join its Property Risks & Coverage team. The role focuses on high‑value subrogated property recovery files, typically exceeding £100K, and offers the chance to lead a small team while developing client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Initial file review, including funding considerations.
• Investigate evidential matters, gather evidence, and conduct third‑party investigations.
• Instruct counsel and experts, manage litigation, and attend conferences and trials.
• Draft legal documents, manage routine correspondence, and liaise with insurers and lay clients.
• Negotiate settlements, prepare Part 36 offers, and handle pre‑action and interim applications.
• Assist with ADR, including mediation, and conduct court appointments.
• Provide technical supervision and performance management for a mini‑team.
• Support recruitment and retention within the wider Property Risks & Coverage team.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with substantial experience in insurance and property recovery law.
• Proven ability to manage high‑value, complex files and lead a small team.
• Strong client‑development track record and willingness to deliver training seminars.
• Commitment to SRA compliance and high professional standards.
