Lead Maintenance Engineer – Commercial Building Services

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Maintenance Engineer to be the sole technical expert on a high‑end commercial site in Central London. This hands‑on position involves 80% of your time on‑site, ensuring building services run smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs in line with SLAs.
• Perform electrical fault‑finding and repairs on single‑ and three‑phase systems, distribution boards, control panels and circuits.
• Conduct routine electrical maintenance, including emergency‑light testing, statutory checks and component replacements.
• Manage and troubleshoot power and lighting systems and carry out minor electrical installations.
• Provide fault‑finding, diagnostics and repair for HVAC plant (AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF, splits, ventilation).
• Maintain general electrical and mechanical plant such as pumps, motors and basic lighting/power systems.
• Undertake minor fabric and plumbing repairs as required.
• Oversee specialist sub‑contractors for lifts, fire safety and other services.
• Maintain high‑quality workmanship and keep site documentation up to date.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial building services maintenance.
• Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., City & Guilds Level 3) and 18th edition certification.
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
