Lead ML/AI Platform Engineer (EU, EMEA Remote)

About the role

Lead ML/AI Platform Engineer at SavvyMoney, responsible for owning the end‑to‑end machine‑learning platform that moves experiments to production, including training infrastructure, model serving, inference pipelines and integration with Java microservices. The role is 100 % remote, based in Warsaw, Poland, working with a distributed team across the US, Canada, Europe and India.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical direction for AI/ML across the company together with the Data Platform Architect.
• Own the ML/AI platform: training infrastructure, model serving, inference pipelines and production integration.
• Build feature engineering, model training, model registry and hosted inference using Amazon SageMaker.
• Implement GenAI/LLM workflows, fine‑tuning and agentic pipelines on Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore.
• Design and maintain serving layer APIs and integrate ML services with Java microservices.
• Drive retrieval architectures, evaluation harnesses and guardrails for regulated agentic workflows.
• Partner with Data Scientists to productionize models and shorten training‑to‑deployment loops.
• Collaborate with product, data and engineering leadership to prioritize high‑impact ML opportunities.

Required profile

• 8+ years in software or ML engineering, with 5+ years delivering production ML systems.
• Proven technical leadership, shaping ML strategy and mentoring senior engineers.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS managed ML stack (SageMaker, Bedrock, AgentCore) and open‑source tooling (JupyterLab, Spark, MLflow).
• Deep knowledge of AWS services (S3, Athena, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions) and strong SQL skills.
