Lead Packaging Technologist

About the role

SRG is partnering with a leading beauty product development and manufacturing business in Bedfordshire. They are seeking a Lead Packaging Technologist to drive innovative, sustainable packaging solutions for personal care, skincare, bath & body and cosmetics products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end packaging development projects from concept through commercial launch.
• Manage and mentor a direct report, overseeing their workload and professional growth.
• Collaborate with R&D, operations and suppliers to deliver robust, cost‑effective packaging solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, performance and sustainability.
• Oversee artwork and specification approvals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Troubleshoot packaging challenges during production and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and keep packaging specifications up to date.

Required profile

• Strong background in packaging development within FMCG, personal care or related industries.
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in packaging innovation, sustainable packaging and industry trends.
• Full right to work in the UK; no sponsorship available.
