Lead Python Developer – Greenfield FinTech Role

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Python Developer to shape the technology roadmap of a fast‑growing financial services business in Central London. This is a greenfield position – the first hire in a new development team – offering immediate ownership of data platforms, automation and business‑critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Python applications and data platforms.
• Build end‑to‑end solutions using Python, PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory and Power BI.
• Mentor junior developers and champion engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and business stakeholders to deliver AI‑driven solutions powered by Claude and Microsoft Copilot.
• Define technical standards and influence the overall architecture.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience in Python development.
• Proven expertise in PostgreSQL and data‑engineering concepts.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory and Power BI.
• Previous technical leadership or team‑lead experience.
• Financial‑services background is highly desirable.
• Full right to work in the United Kingdom.
