Lead Recycling Operative – Western Road

About the role

Join LondonEnergy’s Western Road Recycling Centre as a Lead Recycling Operative. You will support day‑to‑day site operations, ensure health, safety and environmental compliance, and supervise staff while interacting with the public.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the RRC Supervisor in meeting Waste Management Permit requirements and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Carry out daily site inspections, complete operational reports and log incidents using Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Supervise RRC staff and subcontractors, manage rotas and staffing levels in the absence of the Site Supervisor.
• Oversee vehicle and mobile plant usage, ensure cost‑effective resource deployment and perform basic maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness across the site, coordinate repairs and uphold static and mobile plant guidelines.
• Manage bin exchanges, monitor weight targets and contribute to recycling initiatives.
• Provide courteous customer service and clearly communicate site rules to visitors.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a waste‑operations environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for public interaction.
• Flexibility to work across different RRC sites, including weekends on a rota basis.
• Basic IT competence and willingness to undertake training such as mobile plant operation and First Aid.
