Lead Teacher of SEND - Resource Specialist Provision

About the Role

Are you an ambitious and energetic educator looking to make a profound impact on young lives? We are seeking an exceptional Lead Teacher of SEND to spearhead our brand-new Resource Specialist provision, "The Bridgehouse," at Waltham Toll Bar Academy, launching in September 2026.

Main Missions

• Lead and manage a dedicated team of up to five teaching assistants to provide high-quality support.
• Design and implement a broad, balanced, and highly specialized curriculum tailored to students with SEMH needs.
• Collaborate closely with the SENDCO, Academy leadership, the Trust, local authorities, and external agencies.
• Develop and execute adaptive, personalized teaching strategies that meet the specific requirements of EHCP students.
• Promote a trauma-informed and relational learning environment to ensure student well-being and academic progress.

Candidate Profile

• An experienced teacher with a proven track record in specialized education.
• Expertise in working across Key Stages 2 and 3 (KS2-KS3).
• Deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and SEMH requirements.
• An empathetic, child-centered approach with high expectations for all learners.
• Strong leadership, creativity, and collaborative skills.
