Lead/Senior Back-End Developer

About the role

Altered, a leader in voice-synthetic media and creator of a voice editor product, is hiring a Lead/Senior Back-End Developer. The role is based in London but can be done remotely, and involves architecting, designing and developing back-end applications while balancing technical debt and productivity.

Required profile

• Self-driven, ambitious and entrepreneurial, with excellent communication skills and a team-player mentality.
• Ability to learn quickly and to improve.
• Master's or PhD degree in a technical or engineering field.
• At least 5 years of software engineering experience in a product-oriented environment, including unit testing, integration testing, continuous integration, code-style guidelines, continuous development and version control.

Required skills

• Expert coding in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python and C++.
• Experience with Node.js and Electron.
• Back-end application design and development, and back-end testing.
• Deploying servers on AWS or Google Cloud.

Desirable: experience designing large-scale applications, audio or video processing algorithms, and technical leadership.
