Lean Process SME – London Market Insurance (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Lean Process Subject Matter Expert to lead the design of a single, end‑to‑end underwriting process for the London market. The role is contract‑based (outside IR35), based in London (EC3/Lloyd’s) with a hybrid working pattern – three days on‑site and two days remote.

Key responsibilities

• Design a scalable, standardised underwriting process from submission to bind.
• Define and govern controlled variation frameworks across insurance classes.
• Identify optimisation opportunities and build quantified business cases.
• Act as the process design authority in workshops, pilots and steering forums.
• Support pilot rollout and ensure outputs align with future workflow, data and AI transformation.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in process improvement, transformation or consulting.
• Deep knowledge of London market underwriting operations.
• Proven track record delivering end‑to‑end process standardisation.
• Strong analytical, commercial and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Comfortable influencing senior leaders and driving decisions in ambiguous environments.

Required skills

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
• Process improvement and redesign expertise.
• Business case development with quantified financial impact.
• Advanced workshop facilitation and stakeholder management.

What we offer

• Day rate of £425‑£436 (outside IR35).
• 10‑week+ contract with the possibility of extension.
