Lean Specialist

About the role

Based in our Cardiff facility, the Lean Specialist will work closely with the Director of Operations – Ostomy to drive continuous improvement across production, bulk warehouse and the Respond home‑delivery service. The role is hands‑on, requiring strong analytical skills to identify bottlenecks and implement lean manufacturing tools.

Key responsibilities

• Identify waste, cost‑reduction opportunities and lead value‑stream mapping exercises.
• Plan, facilitate and execute Kaizen events, 5S, visual management and other lean initiatives on the shop‑floor and in transactional processes.
• Coach cross‑functional teams on lean tools, conduct root‑cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone) and develop implementation plans.
• Deliver lean training to employees at all levels and support change‑management activities.
• Monitor and measure the impact of improvements to ensure targets are met.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a continuous‑improvement or lean role within a manufacturing environment.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (Black Belt preferred).
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence at all organisational levels.
• Detail‑oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and drive results.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 or other regulated quality systems is desirable.
