Learning Behaviour Mentor

About the role

We are seeking a Learning Behaviour Mentor to join the KS3 team at an alternative provision school in Bromley. The school uses a therapy‑based approach to support pupils with EHCPs, SEMH, ASD, ACES and SEND needs, helping them develop both academically and socially.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to KS3 pupils (years 7‑9) to improve motivation, behaviour and learning outcomes.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and monitor progress against individual education plans.
• Collaborate with a multi‑professional team, including therapists and specialists, to deliver a holistic support package.
• Facilitate activities that promote independence and prepare students for reintegration into mainstream education.

Required profile

• Passion for working with young people who face significant emotional, social and educational challenges.
• Experience in alternative provision or secondary education settings is desirable.
• Calm, patient and engaging classroom presence.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a supportive team.

Required skills

• Behaviour management techniques.
• Understanding of EHCP, SEMH, ASD, ACES and SEND frameworks.
• Ability to obtain a DBS check.
